Janet JACKSON in San Francisco
Global music icon, multiple GRAMMY® Award-winner and multi-Platinum selling artist, the incomparable Janet Jackson is scheduled to perform at Chase Center on Sept. 21, marking her only U.S. appearance this year following her Las Vegas residency “Metamorphosis.”
The five-time Grammy winner and recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee is calling the concert a special 30th anniversary celebration of her blockbuster 1989 album, “Rhythm Nation,” which includes the hits “Miss You Much,” “Alright” and “Escapade.”
She also brings some much-needed diversity to the initial roster of artists breaking in the Golden State Warriors’ new 18,064-seat arena in San Francisco in its opening month.
Jackson, who alongside Florence + the Machine was the first female headliner at the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival last year, is performing between Chase Center concert dates for Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony, Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer and Eric Church.
The 52-year-old singer, actress and youngest sibling of the Jackson clan has sold 26 million albums in the United States, according to the RIAA, making her one of the best-selling female artists of all time since making her debut in 1982.
